Apply through UCAS

Once you’ve decided to pursue a degree in the UK, you can either apply directly for an undergraduate degree through JnS Education or opt for the UCAS application. This article will provide detailed information about UCAS and its deadlines.

What is a UCAS application?

UCAS stands for ‘The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.’ It is an online university application system used to process undergraduate applications for study at UK universities. The fee for UCAS application is £22.50 GBP for a single choice or £27.50 GBP for multiple courses.

You can only apply once in a cycle.

Filling a UCAS application form

Successful completion of 3 A-Levels with ABB – BBB (or equivalent), IB 32 or High School with 70% and above for most universities. However, each university’s requirements vary depending on the chosen course.

Before you begin with your application, you need to register with UCAS hub. Make sure to enter the correct name as mentioned on your passport.

This section is important and you will be asked to enter email address, other contact details, residency status, ethnic origin, occupational background, parental education, and financial situations.

You need to add your current and previous education details. This helps universities to understand if you meet their entry requirements.

You only need to add paid job details in this section. Leave the section empty if you do not have full-time or part-time employment history.

You can choose and add up to five courses. Please note, application fee differs for single and multiple choices.

This section is important for communicating your courses of interest, explaining why you want to study with the universities, and outlining your career goals. It’s your opportunity to express yourself in up to 4000 characters. The university offer of acceptance heavily depends on your Statement of Purpose (SOP).

Don’t make mistakes—get in touch with JnS Education for support with your Personal Statement and UCAS application.

UCAS Undergraduate application opens for registrations but cannot be submitted until September.

What is UCAS clearing?

If you didn’t get any offers or the grades you expected, there’s still hope. Clearing is a process for UK universities to fill any remaining course vacancies.

What you need to do on the clearing day / Week – use the UCAS search tool to find available courses in different universities and call the international office to talk to them. Share your actual grades over the call and take on-spot decisions from the university.
