Become a Doctor in the UK

After completing an MBBS degree in the UK, students must register with the General Medical Council (GMC) to practice as doctors.

Entry requirements

To apply to a medical university in the UK, students must have satisfactory high school results and a strong command of English.

UCAT or BMAT exams

All UK medical schools require students to take either the UCAT (Clinical Aptitude Test) or BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test). These admission tests are held in the summer and autumn of the year.

Medicine tuition fees for international students are higher than other degrees such as Business, Engineering, or Law. In most UK universities, the tuition fee for MBBS or MBChB remains the same for the first two years. However, years 3-5, which are clinical years, are charged at a higher price compared to the first two years.
